Helping Families In Need
Family Promise of Sacramento is a nonprofit program designed specifically for homeless families that helps them achieve self-sufficiency and regain a home for themselves and their children. Shelter for the families is provided through a unique, innovative method by utilizing an interfaith hospitality network of 16 congregations and hundreds of volunteers throughout the Sacramento region.
Lianna, Laila and Raul were homeless with nowhere to sleep, and without an income. After being in the program at Family Promise, they have a home in Serna Village and both Raul and Lianna are employed. (Lianna works at the Mustard Seed School at Loaves and Fishes), and the family recently welcomed a new baby girl into the family!
“Family Promise has been the life-changing factor in my life. You did something my own family didn’t do: You welcomed us. There were all these people believing in me, encouraging and welcoming me. These were ultimate factors in the progress of my life.” –Liana, graduate of Family Promise of Sacramento.
“Family Promise has allowed me to become the man I truly am. I’ve learned here how to keep my own family promises.” –Raul, graduate of Family Promise of Sacramento.
